Project Delivery

In the same way that we know each of our clients require unique and varied treatment solutions for their water issues, at Doosan Hydro Technology we also know that they have different needs in the way that their projects are delivered. That is why we provide several methods of project delivery.

Design-Bid-Build (DBB)

As the most frequently occurring delivery method, Doosan Hydro Technology participates as a prime contractor submitting our bid directly to the project owner. The price and scope of work is based on the design and specifications produced by the owner’s architect or engineer. In this type of traditional procurement method, the contract is normally awarded to the firm with the lowest bid. Value engineering, project innovations and past experience is not usually taken into account.

Design-Build (DB)

In this method of delivery, the project owner identifies the project and sets a level of quality and design standards in which the project will be bid to. Design-build teams then submit their qualifications, plant design, construction schedule and project cost to the owner. An owner may select an engineer to act as their agent to assist them in evaluating the design-build proposals. The owner contracts with a single entity to complete the design and construction of the project. This delivery method allows the owner to select the team with the greatest experience, the top design, and most advantageous project cost and schedule.

Doosan participates as both a DB team leader as well as a partner with leading AE firms and civil contractors.

Design-Build-Operate (DBO) and Design-Build-Finance (DBF)

DBO is similar to the DB process but the DB entity operates the plant for a specified period of time for the plant owner. Doosan has the financial strength to provide project financing services.

Public Private Partnership

Doosan understands the challenges the public sector faces when it comes to water treatment and management. Working with local governments in the U.S. and around the world, we have provided cost-efficient and reliable water and wastewater treatment plants. As a global infrastructure service provider, Doosan can supply project funding, own and operate systems with options for lease or ownership transfer for projects of any magnitude.
