Doosan prepares for water industry growth
Doosan Hydro Technology, a subsidiary of Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction (DHIC), has selected Tampa Bay as the home for its U.S. domestic headquarters. The multi-billion dollar, multinational, privately held South Korean company, DHIC is a world leader in the desalination and power industries.
Doosan Hydro Technology is a recognized leader in water treatment, providing full service solutions for public and private sector clients in the water, power and beverage industries. DHT provides engineering, manufacturing and construction of water and wastewater treatment plants for drinking water, boiler feed water, desalination, and related services. Doosan Hydro's expertise and its new research and development center, coupled with DHIC’s financial strength and reputation will make it extremely competitive in the U.S. market.
While the Doosan Hydro corporate offices are located in Tampa Bay, they also have offices in Texas and California. The company employs eighty people, primarily professionals including engineers, designers, research technicians and other project and customer support staff. Doosan is actively recruiting additional staff and hope to have another twenty people join in the next year. There are plans to expand and take on additional facilities around Tampa for manufacturing and research and development.

Doosan Hydro Technology is presently working on next-generation desalination plants that feature improved economic efficiency.
