The Doosan Hydro Technology innovative membrane bioreactor (MBR) systems for treating domestic sewage and biodegradable wastewater uses ultrafiltration (UF) membrane systems to separate the solids or sludge from the mixed liquor. The separation of the solids or sludge is accomplished by using tubular or flat sheet UF membranes.

Independent biological treatment process can be customized for specific treatment objectives such as nutrient removal, destruction of specific contaminants, and incorporation of other processes such as chemical reactions or precipitation, and dissolved oxygen control.

Treated Wastewater Quality
Doosan Hydro Technology's MBR sewage treatment systems produce treated effluent with less than 5 mg/L BOD, less than 1 mg/L suspended solids, and consistent turbidity of less than 0.5 NTU. The typical UF treated effluent has a SDI value of less than 2 and can be directly fed to a reverse osmosis system, without additional filtration. The UF will also reduce organic matter and will minimize biological fouling in the downstream reverse osmosis systems.
